Hanbury Area Walks

There are numerous public footpaths in the Hanbury area, many starting from the Cock Inn on Hanbury Hill (a good place to park and have a drink and a sandwich before or after your walk). The shortest and easiest walk is to the awesome Fauld Explosion Crater, just 600 yds from the pub. When you enter Queen's Purse Wood, turn right and the crater will appear on your left after approx 400m.

From the entrance to Queen's Purse Wood, continue straight on down the hill on the path which will eventually get you to the River Dove and Tutbury, with it's historic Castle, church and pubs.

Another walk from the pub goes through the village, beside the church then across fields to Draycott in the Clay. From Draycott, there's a return walk up the hill and back to Hanbury via the very quiet Greaves Lane.
